Saving Dough on your Wedding Cake

When planning and budgeting for your wedding, consider this, bakeries often determine the cost of a wedding cake on a per slice basis. If you need to serve 200 guests, and it is $2 a slice, you're looking at a $400 wedding cake. This can be a costly expense, but it doesn’t have to be.

To save a little dough on your wedding cake, try this wedding cake tip.

Tip: Purchase a small tiered wedding cake that will feed only a handful. Use this cake for show, pictures, and the popular cake cutting ceremony (if you choose to have one). The top tier of this cake can also be saved for your one year anniversary (if you opt to save it). Then purchase sheet cakes, which are generally cheaper and serve a larger quantity, to additionally, be served up to your guests.

Your guests won't know the difference between the tiered cake and the sheet cakes, and you won't break the bank.
